About Meliora

A considered resource for capable, curious adults.

Meliora publishes evidence-aware editorial work for men 35+ who want a clearer relationship with training and health. We are based at 28 Jalan Raya Kemang, South Jakarta 12730, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia.

What we cover

Our pages connect functional training, endurance, mobility, nutrition, sleep and sports physiology. The connecting idea is practical interpretation: how to understand information well enough to make a sensible next decision. We do not sell medical treatment, promise outcomes or present one routine as universal.

Evidence-aware

We seek reputable sources and explain uncertainty instead of hiding it. Every research note names the kind of study behind a finding.

Human-scale

We write for lives that include work, relationships, weather and changing priorities, and we avoid advice that assumes unlimited time.

Independent

Editorial decisions are separate from advertising and commercial influence, as set out in our editorial policy.

Why the name Meliora

Meliora points toward better things without claiming perfection. It reflects the small, cumulative choices that improve understanding: a better question, a more honest record, a calmer progression and a clearer boundary around advice.

The word is Latin for “better” in the plural, and we use it as a reminder that improvement is rarely a single event. It is a series of modest decisions, many of them invisible from the outside.

How the publication developed

Meliora grew from a small group of coaches, writers and researchers who noticed that readers over 35 were poorly served by sports media. Most material assumed either elite ambition or complete beginnerhood, and little of it paused to explain why. The milestones below describe the main phases of the work.

  1. Origin

    A shared question

Informal conversations in South Jakarta about why training information for adults was so uneven led to a first set of working notes.

  2. Framework

    Writing the standards first

Before publishing, the team drafted its evidence labels, review stages and rules for corrections. These became the methodology.

  3. Growth

    Widening the topics

Guides on mobility, sleep and nutrition joined the original training and endurance pages, each reviewed by a practitioner in the relevant field.

  4. 2026

    Opening the process

This year the desk added field notes, the performance lab and a published editorial calendar so that readers can follow how decisions are made.

What Meliora is, and what it is not

A clear boundary is part of being trustworthy. The table sets out what readers can expect from the publication and where responsibility sits elsewhere.

Meliora is Meliora is not
An editorial publication that explains training and physiology. A clinic, a gym or a provider of medical services.
A source of general information with named evidence labels. A source of personal advice or individual programmes.
A reader-funded project with clearly separated advertising rules. A channel for promoting products or paid placements as editorial.
A place to learn vocabulary, context and good questions. A place to learn what to do about a specific symptom.

Principles we hold ourselves to

  • We explain uncertainty, and we say “we do not know” when that is the honest answer.
  • We separate reporting from opinion and label each clearly.
  • We name conflicts of interest at the top of the article, not in a footnote.
  • We correct errors in public and record the date of each change.
  • We write plainly, without headlines that exaggerate what an article contains.
Trust is built slowly, by small acts of accuracy that nobody notices until one is missing.

Who funds Meliora?

The publication is funded by its founders and by advertising that follows the rules on our advertising page. Advertisers do not see or influence editorial work.

Why focus on men aged 35 and over?

It is a group whose questions are often overlooked, and whose training histories and recovery patterns differ widely. Women and younger readers are welcome, and the principles apply broadly.
