Terms of Use
Effective date: 5 October 2026. These terms govern access to Meliora, an informational editorial publication operated from 28 Jalan Raya Kemang, South Jakarta 12730, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia.
The terms apply to every page of the website, including articles, guides, glossary entries and the contact form. They are read together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookies Policy, the Health and Editorial Disclaimer and the Advertising and Sponsorship Policy. If a specific page contains an additional notice, for example about a research summary, that notice supplements these terms and does not replace them.
1. Acceptance
By using the website, you agree to use it lawfully and respectfully. If you do not accept these terms, please stop using the site. These terms do not create a coaching, medical, employment or advisory relationship between you and Meliora.
Use of the site is not conditional on registration, payment or the creation of an account. Reading a page, following a link or sending a message is treated as use. If you are using the site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to do so. Because no relationship of care is formed, an editor who answers a question about an article is explaining published material and is not assessing your situation.
2. Editorial purpose
Meliora publishes general education about sports physiology, functional training, endurance and related subjects. Articles are written for broad audiences and cannot account for every medical history, medication, injury, climate or training environment. Professional advice remains the appropriate source for personal decisions.
An article about endurance, for example, may describe how heart rate zones are commonly used, but it cannot know whether a particular reader has a heart condition, takes medication that alters heart rate or trains in the heat of a Jakarta afternoon. Readers aged 35 and over often have a more varied health background than a general audience, which is one reason the content stresses context over instruction. Where an article suggests a general approach, treat it as a starting point for a conversation with a qualified practitioner.
3. No medical advice
Nothing on the website diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents a disease. Do not delay urgent care because of an article, comment or contact response. Stop activity when symptoms are concerning and seek qualified local care. Emergency services should be contacted directly when a situation appears urgent.
In Indonesia, urgent situations can be reported to the national emergency number 112 or by going to the nearest hospital emergency department. A reply from the editorial desk is not a substitute for either, and the desk does not monitor the contact form around the clock. The following examples are intended to clarify the principle rather than to list every case.
(a) An article about training load does not tell you whether it is suitable after an injury.
(b) An email reply explaining a glossary term does not amount to an assessment of your symptoms.
(c) A reader comment or shared story is one person’s experience and is not guidance.
4. Accuracy
We work to publish careful information, but science develops and editorial pages can contain mistakes or become dated. We make no warranty that every statement is complete, current or suitable for a particular purpose. Readers should compare important information with reputable professional and primary sources.
Each article carries a 2026 date so that readers can judge how recent the material is, and articles are reviewed when new research, guidance or links change the picture. A statement that was reasonable at publication can become incomplete later, particularly in fast-moving areas such as recovery research. If you find an error, write to [email protected] with the page address and the sentence concerned. Material corrections are recorded with a dated note, as described in the Editorial Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You may read, print and share ordinary links for personal and non-commercial reference. Do not interfere with site security, scrape personal information, upload malicious code, impersonate Meliora or use content to mislead others. We may restrict access where use threatens readers, systems or editorial operations.
Examples of use that is not acceptable include running automated tools that send requests at a rate that slows the site, attempting to access directories or files that are not linked, sending messages that contain malware or deceptive links, and presenting an article excerpt as if Meliora endorsed a product or a person. Restrictions can range from blocking a single address for a period of time to declining to answer a message. We will normally act in proportion to the risk, and where it is practical we will explain the reason when a reader asks.
6. Intellectual property
Meliora text, branding, design and original editorial work belong to Meliora or its licensors. Permission is not granted to reproduce a substantial portion, create a competing archive or remove attribution. Quoting a short excerpt with a working link may be acceptable under applicable law.
Indonesian copyright law recognises quotation for purposes such as education, criticism and review where the source is credited. A quotation of a sentence or two with the article title and a link is the kind of use we have in mind; copying a whole guide, translating it for republication or placing it behind another publisher’s branding is not. Photographs on the site are either licensed or created for Meliora, and they are subject to the same limits. To ask for permission to republish material, email [email protected] describing the intended use, the audience and the proposed credit.
7. External links
Articles may link to research, public resources, advertisers or other websites. Meliora does not control their availability, privacy practices, security or claims. A link is provided for context and is not an endorsement, guarantee or instruction to purchase a product.
Links can break, move or lead to material that has changed since we reviewed it. We check links when an article is revised, but we cannot monitor every destination continuously. If a link goes to a page that is misleading, unsafe or no longer relevant, please tell us so that we can replace or remove it. Visiting a linked website means you are subject to its own terms and privacy notice, which may differ from ours.
8. Advertising
Advertising may appear separately from editorial material. Advertisements are identified where appropriate, and advertisers do not determine editorial conclusions. You are responsible for evaluating an offer and checking its terms. Meliora does not make health or financial promises on behalf of advertisers.
The way placements are labelled, reviewed and declined is described in the Advertising and Sponsorship Policy. In short, an advertisement is not an article, an article is not an advertisement, and a reader should not assume that Meliora has verified a claim made in a paid placement. Check the advertiser’s identity, delivery terms, return conditions and any safety information before you rely on an offer. If an advertisement appears to be misleading, report the page and date to [email protected].
9. User messages
If you contact us, you confirm that your message is lawful and that you have the right to share it. Avoid sending confidential medical records. You grant Meliora permission to use the message to respond, investigate a correction or improve editorial operations, subject to the Privacy Policy.
Messages should not contain threats, abusive language, another person’s personal details without their permission, or material that infringes someone else’s rights. We do not publish messages from readers or quote them by name without separate written permission. If a message points to a factual error, we may use the substance of the report, without identifying you, to prepare a correction note. Messages are retained according to the periods in the Privacy Policy, which are generally up to 24 months after the last exchange.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Meliora is not responsible for loss resulting from reliance on general information, external links, interruptions, inaccurate user submissions or third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes a responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded under Indonesian law.
This means, for example, that Meliora is not responsible for a decision a reader makes about training after reading a general article, for a temporary outage caused by a hosting provider, or for the content of a website we link to. It does not remove any right a consumer has under Indonesian consumer protection law, and it does not limit responsibility for matters such as deliberate misconduct where the law does not allow limitation. Readers are encouraged to keep a copy of any important correspondence for their own records.
11. Governing law
These terms are interpreted under the laws applicable in the Republic of Indonesia. The parties will first try to resolve a concern through written contact. If resolution is not possible, the competent courts in Jakarta may hear the matter, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
The practical sequence is as follows. A reader writes to [email protected] describing the concern and what outcome is requested. The editorial desk acknowledges the message within 10 business days and aims to give a written response within 30 days. If the concern remains unresolved, either side may seek advice about mediation or approach the competent court in Jakarta, and a consumer may also approach a consumer dispute body. Nothing in this section prevents a person from using a statutory right to complain to a public authority.
12. Changes
The current terms were reviewed on 5 October 2026. We may revise them for legal, technical or editorial reasons. A material update will show a new date. Continued access after publication of an update indicates use under the revised terms.
Change log for these terms:
(a) 5 October 2026: clarified the meaning of acceptance, emergency contact guidance, acceptable use examples, quotation limits, liability wording and the dispute sequence.
(b) Earlier 2026 edition: first publication of the terms for the Meliora editorial website.
Where a change affects how your information is handled, the Privacy Policy will also show a matching dated entry.
